![]() It's bothersome to reset RetroArch again from a clean install, but I can understand why you'd want that. I already tried Steam, and it wouldn't give me any controller options for RetroArch after I added it. (Retroarch 圆4 latest version, on Win 10 Home)Ĭan you recommend an external program, if you know one. I don't understand how it can work for you, but not for me? I'm using the base "retroarch.cfg" file that I saved when I mapped my keyboard keys to hotkeys and controller buttons/controls I'm not using any Control Remap Files at all ![]() Nothing but remapping the WASD keys to the D-Pad in SETTINGS -> INPUT -> PORT 1 CONTROLS works, and there's no way on RetroArch to save those default keyboard key mappings per core or per game on RetroArch (which would make things so much easier and more logical), so I need to set that every time I load in a game for the affected core (PSX - Beetle)ĭifferent Input Drivers? (I'm using the default: dinputĭifferent Controller Drivers? (I'm using the default: hidĪ specific Location Driver? (Currently set to Null I'm in North America) Setting A2D to "Left Analogue (Forced)" same as above no direction controls at all. Setting A2D to "Left Analogue" gives me no functioning direction controls at all. Setting A2D to "none" just gives me the arrow keys for direction control ![]() So I try changing device type to DualShock Contoller. So I try setting A2D to "Left Analogue (Forced)" So, I go to Quick Menu -> Controls -> Port 1 Controls, and with the Device Type set to "Playstation Controller", I set the A2D setting to "Left Analogue". But I want to use the WASD keys on my keyboard to control directions. Then when I try to play a PS1 game that only uses the D-Pad controls, I try setting the Analogue-to-Digital setting first to "None" (for playing Breath of Fire 3, but it's the same problem for any PSX core games I try to play), and the direction controls are bound to the D-pad keys. I have the Left Analogue stick controls mapped to WASD and the D-Pad controls mapped to the direction keys in the SETTINGS -> INPUT -> PORT 1 CONTROLS. So, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Can't control any movement/menu selection at all. So, I tried setting the Analogue-to-Digital mode back to None, and then remapping the Left Analogue controls to the D-Pad and vice versa. The same when I tried Left Analogue (Forced) mode. With my input settings keybinds set with keyboard keys for both the analogue stick and a different set for the D-pad, I expected it to be a simple case of using the Analogue-to-Digital setting for Left Analogue stick to play a game that only used the D-pad for controls (not even sure if a Playstation 1 controller even has analogue sticks), but when I tried, trying to control direction with either my Analogue Stick-mapped keys or my D-Pad-mapped keys had no effect the game didn't move my character/menu position at all. Okay, I thought I had a handle on this whole Controller Mapping in the Quick Menu, but then I tried using a Playstation 1 game. \System\pcsx2 folder, does there need to be a custom "config" folder in there as well to save the core-specific override and config files in? I have that core set up correctly as per the special instructions, so I was wondering that since the actual PCXS2 core files are in the. The current core I'm trying to do this with is the PCXS2 core (Playstation 2). I have the override files set to load automatically when I load the core, and even get a message saying that the overrides have been applied, but they haven't really. This is the same for every core I've tried. ![]() It works when I have no core loaded, but won't when I have a core loaded.įor the latter problem, when I try to save the overrides for a specific core's input controller (for keyboard) in QuickMenu -> Overrides -> Save Core Overrides, it says it saves the file, but the next time I load in that core, the remapped hotkeys and controller key binds are gone back to default. I've been trying to figure out how to save my remapped hotkeys for all Retroarch cores, and controller remaps for individual cores, but when I try to save the main configuration file, I keep getting a "Failed to save config to c:\RetroArch-Win64\retroarch.cfg" when I try to save it with a core loaded.
